On January 14, 2020, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested William Kaywood (1500 Bell Ridge Rd, 19 years old) and charged him with vandalism under $1,000, evading arrest, and aggravated assault.

Officers were dispatched to the area of State of Franklin//Watauga Ave in reference to a hit and run involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. A Johnson City Police Officer located the motorcycle on Legion St a short time later. The officer followed the motorcycle to the intersection of Legion St//King Springs.
