On 09/16/2017, officers of the Johnson City Police Dept arrested Mr Austin Malone (205 Hamilton St, 24 years old) for Reckless Endangerment and Driving on Revoked License 2nd offense.

At approximately 6:21 pm, officers responded to a complaint of a reckless vehicle on the lot of  1007 N Roan St. The driver of the vehicle operated his vehicle recklessly from N Roan St onto the lot of 1007 N Roan and had almost struck a child walking on the lot. The driver got into a verbal altercation with the child’s mother making the statement that he was only playing around.  The vehicle left the scene and was later stopped by officers. Mr Malone was identified at the driver. Mr Malone’s license was found to be revoked with a prior driving on revoked license offense.

Mr Malone was arrested and is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $ 5000 bond. Arraignment is set for September 18th at 9:00 am in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 09/14/17, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Ray Edward Johnson (36 yrs old, 107 Old Persia Rd Rogersville) and charged him with Motor Vehicle Theft over $1,000 and Hindering a Secured Creditor.  The arrest stems from a vehicle trade that was set up through Facebook.  Mr Johnson met with the victim at the BP, 5019 Bobby Hicks Hwy, on 08/03/17.   Mr. Johnson traded a 2004 Mercedes-Benz for the victim’s 2004 Ford Explorer and they also exchanged titles.  When the victim tried to register the Mercedes he was informed that the vehicle had two title loans on it, which were not reflected in the title he received.  On 09/14/17 Investigators recovered the Explorer and placed Mr. Johnson under arrest at 107 Old Persia Rd.  He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $15,000 bond.  He is scheduled for Arraignment in General Sessions Court on 09/15/17 at 10:00 am.

On 09/19/2017, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jeremy Lee Ball (42 years old, of 103 Mountain View Dr. #21 Johnson City) and charged him with one count of Forgery under $1000 and two counts of Theft of Property under $1000.

The arrest is the result of an investigation into a report that was filed by the victim who stated that he had found that one of his personal checks had been stolen from his residence the forged and passed at a bank located in Johnson City.

Mr. Ball was located at the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $7,000.00 bond.  Arraignment for Mr. Ball is scheduled for 09/20/2017 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 9/19/17, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Lynzee Adilaid Miller (856 Pardee St, 30 years old) and charged her with auto burglary and theft under $1,000.

The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into an auto burglary that occurred on 8/12/17. The victim reported her wallet was stolen from her car as it sat in the parking lot at 400 N. State of Franklin Rd., Johnson City Medical Center. During the course of the investigation, Miller was developed as the suspect.

On 9/19/17, Miller was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $6,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 9/20/17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 09/19/2017, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Todd Moore (144 Rolling Acres Rd, Gray, TN 34 years old) and Jessica Earp (123 W Millard St, Johnson City, TN 27) and charged them with Possession of Stolen Property over $2500.

At approximately 09:09 p.m., Officers observed a vehicle matching the description of a BOLO of a stolen vehicle from earlier in the day.  Officers observed a white male driving a Gold Honda CR-V, later identified as Todd Moore and a white female in the passenger seat, identified as Jessica Earp.  Officers conducted a traffic stop and confirmed that the vehicle was stolen out of Johnson City.  Both parties advised Officers that they did not know that the vehicle was stolen and was given the vehicle from two strangers.

Both suspects are currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond each.  Both suspects are due to appear in court for his arraignment at 1:30 p.m. on 09/20/2017 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 9/20/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joshua A White (398 Okolona Rd, Johnson City, TN, 32 years old) on the charges of theft of motor vehicle (over $1,000), theft of property (under $500) and resisting arrest.

The arrest stems from a 911 call in regards to a stolen vehicle. The stolen vehicle was later located at an apartment building by officers and White was developed as a suspect. He was subsequently located in one of the apartments and placed in custody for theft of motor vehicle. He was additionally charged with resisting arrest after he struggled with officers and theft of property (under $500) due to the victim’s belongings missing from the vehicle.

White was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $7,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear for his arraignment in Washington County General Sessions Court on 9/20/17 at 1:30 p.m.

On 9/21/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jose Juan Buckles Jr. (4201 Simerly Creek Rd., Unicoi, TN., 39 years old) and charged him with worthless checks over $1,000.

 

On 5/18/17, officers responded to Easy Money, 2221 N. Roan St., in reference to a reported bad check. They reported that Jose Juan Buckles Jr. came into the business and cashed a checked that was made out to him from an insurance company. The check was cashed and Buckles left with over $1,000. That insurance check later came back as bad. It was discovered through the investigation that Buckles had already cashed that check on-line just prior to taking it into Easy Money and cashing the same check again.

 

On 9/21/17, officers with the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office located Buckles in their jurisdiction. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Johnson City Police Department. Buckles was later transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set of for 1:30 p.m. on 9/21/17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

    On 9/22/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Walter C. Church (111 E Maple St., Johnson City, Tn.,60 years old) and he was charged with being a Fugitive From Justice.  At approximately 10:00 a.m, officers were on patrol when they observed Walter Church standing in front of his residence at 111 E Maple St. Officers had prior knowledge that Church had an active warrant out of Whitefield County , Ga. Church was then taken into custody without incident.  Police arrested Mr. Church and he was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of bond pending a hearing.  Arraignment is set for today the 25th at 1:30 p.m., in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 9/24/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Harold V. Shoemaker (611 Lovedale Dr. Kingsport, TN, 22 years old) and charged him with three counts of Aggravated Assault. On 9/24/17 at 1:35 a.m., officers made contact with three victims at 150 W. State of Franklin Road who stated a male pulled a 9mm handgun on them after an argument had occurred while they were leaving Numan’s bar downtown. Harold Shoemaker was located across the street at 100 Cherry Street, matching the description the victims gave officers. He was positively identified as the male who pulled a gun on them. Shoemaker was arrested and is currently being held at Washington County Detention Center on a $60,000 bond. An arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 9/25/2017 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

    On 09/23/17, at 12:50 a.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Brian Wayne Stout, 44, 810 Magnolia Ext. Apt. 15, TN. and charged him with Fugitive from Justice, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest. The arrest stems from an investigation into a possible assault call involving Mr. Stout. While officers were talking to Mr. Stout it was discovered that he had an extraditable Warrant for Violation of a Court Order out of Lee County, Virginia on 10/08/14. As Mr. Stout was about to be handcuffed, he ran inside his apartment and locked the door. Officers had to force their way into his apartment and bedroom, while Mr. Stout attempted to hold the door shut. When officers made it into Mr. Stout’s bedroom he surrendered to police. Mr. Stout was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.  An arraignment is set for 09/25/17, in Washington County General Sessions Court.

     On 9/25/2017, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Antonio Gomez, 31 years old, 72 Charleston Sq. Johnson City, on charges of false imprisonment and sexual battery.  On 9/24/2017 at approximately 7:30 PM, officers responded to Walmart, 3111 Browns Mill Rd., in reference to an assault. The victim of the assault told officers that an unknown male had begun harassing her in the parking lot and making lewd comments to her while she was walking to her car. He followed her and asked her to come home with him and then prevented her from leaving. When she got in her vehicle, the suspect groped her and physically restrained her. She struggled with him and during the struggle she punched him and was able to escape. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival.  On 9/5/2017 at approximately 1:00 AM, officers located the vehicle driven by the suspect and subsequently identified him as Antonio Gomez. He was placed under arrest on the above charges and was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $6,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for 9/25/2017 at 1:30 PM in Washington County Sessions Court.

On 09/25/2017, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Hassan Fathi Alhamdan (23 years old, of 1709 Knob Creek Rd. Johnson City) and charged him with eleven counts Worthless check under $1000 and one count of Theft of Property over $1000.

The arrest is the result of an investigation into a report that was filed by the complainant who stated that several checks totaling $4,074.34 had been deposited into an account and were later returned due to the account being closed.

Mr. Alhamdan is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $20,000 bond and he is scheduled for arraignment in Washington County General Sessions Court on 09/26/2017 at 1:30 p.m.

    On 09/25/17, at 6:34 a.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Robert Wayne Ingram, 52, General Delivery, TN. and charged him with Fugitive from Justice. The arrest stems from an investigation into persons possibly staying at a building under construction in Johnson City. Upon investigation it was discovered that one of the subjects, identified as Robert Ingram, had an extraditable Warrant for Grand Larceny out of Newport, Virginia on 03/23/17. The warrant was confirmed by the Newport Virginia Police Department. Mr. Ingram was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.  An arraignment is set for 09/26/17, in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 9/27/17, the Johnson City Police Department arrested William Shane Necessary (510 Berkley Ct, 25 years old) and charged him with aggravated burglary, burglary, theft over $1,000 and theft under $1,000.

On 9/22/17, a second defendant, Brittney Lynn Hamm (3500 W. Market St., 28 years old) was also charged with the same offense in regards to these incidents.

The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into a series of thefts that were reported on 9/22/17 by residents of Lazy Acres Mobile Home Park, 126 Lynn Rd. Necessary and Hamm took a set of keys from a home for a vehicle. Another set of keys were taken from a separate vehicle that allowed access to an out building where various lawn and power tools were stored. Later in the morning, a pursuit with deputies of the Washington County Sherriff’s Office resulted in the recovery of the stolen vehicle and various amounts of stolen property.

On 9/22/17, Hamm was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held in lieu of a $63,000 bond. Arraignment was to be held on 9/25/17 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.    

On 9/27/17, Necessary was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $63,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 9/28/17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 9/27/17, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Anthony James Bray (1202 Grover St., 31 years old) and charged him with attempted aggravated burglary. 

The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into a fight call that was received from 804 Claiborne St. on 9/23/17. The victims called police after two men from a nearby residence allegedly came across the street and demanded the victims to turn their music down. One of the men has been identified as Anthony James Bray. After threats of violence against the victims were made, a fight occurred between Bray and one of the victims. The other defendant left for a brief time and returned with a baseball bat. Upon his return, he struck one of the victims with the bat. Both Bray and the other defendant fled on foot prior to police arrival. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.       

On 9/27/17, Bray was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 9/28/17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

    On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at approximately 9:10 pm., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Amanda Stidham, 37 years of age, from Kings Mountain, NC, on the charge of Shoplifting. The arrest was the result of an investigation into an ongoing shoplifting incident. Officers were flagged down by Mall Security in reference to a female shoplifting from Buckle in the Mall. Officers located the female and recovered the stolen property. Stidham then lead officers to her vehicle were there were several bags with a large amount of cosmetics in them. It was determined that many of the items, totaling $3,180, were stolen from Ulta Beauty in the Mall.  Stidham was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where she is held on a $5,000 bond. Her arraignment is set for Thursday, September 28, at 1:30 pm in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On 09/29/2017, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Gregory D Langdon (171 Sink Hole Rd, Tellico Plains, 46 years old) and charged him with Schedule VI Drug Violation, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Carry or Possession of a Weapon.

At 8:00 p.m., officers responded to suspicious activity at 1112 King Springs Rd. An anonymous caller advised that there were suspicious subjects in front of apartment 9 possibly conducting a drug deal. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Langdon along with two females sitting in a black Nissan pickup parked in front of apartment 9.

Based on Langdon’s behavior and answers to officers questions he was asked to give consent to search the vehicle and he refused. A K9 arrived and conducted a free air search of the vehicle and the K9 alerted to the possible presence of narcotics being present in the vehicle. A hands on search of the vehicle was conducted and drugs, drug paraphernalia and a rifle were located inside the vehicle.

The two females were issued misdemeanor citations and allowed to leave.

Langdon was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $12,000 bond.  Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 10/02/2017 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

     On 9/30/2017 officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jason Ashby, 41 years old, 21 Regency Square, Johnson City, on charges of driving with expired registration, driving on a revoked license, felony evading arrest, five counts of felony reckless endangerment, felony possession of schedule II narcotics, simple possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. On 9/30/2017 at approximately 4:30 PM, officers observed Mr. Ashby driving on North Roan Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on his vehicle for having an expired registration. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, Mr. Ashby went from the Target Parking lot and turned into the Econologe Hotel parking lot. Mr. Ashby then abandoned his vehicle and ran into a room at the Econolodge Hotel where he was apprehended by officers. When officers entered his room, they found methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia that Mr. Ashby had carried into the room with him during his flight in an attempt to conceal the illegal contraband. Mr. Ashby was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $73,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for 10/2/2017 at 1:30 PM in Washington County Sessions Court.

    On 10/02/2017, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested 37 year old Vanessa Worthley, 615 W E St, Elizabethton, Tennessee, and charged her with False Reporting and Simple Possession of Schedule VI Drugs.

    At approximately 9:00 pm, officers observed a green Jeep Grand Cherokee run a stop sign and attempted to stop the vehicle at East Fairview Avenue and Steel Street.  The vehicle fled a short distance on Furnace Road where the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot.  The passenger was Vanessa Worthley.  While being questioned about the driver of the vehicle, Ms. Worthley provided false information and was arrested for False Report.  Ms. Worthley was also found to be in possession of approximately 2 grams of marijuana.  Ms. Worthley is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $2,000 bond. Her arraignment hearing is set for 10/03/2017 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County’s General Sessions Court.
