On 1/25/2015 officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Edward J Scott (1601 E Myrtle Ave Johnson City, TN 37601, 35 years old) and charged him with one count each of Driving Under the Influence (Sixth Offense), Driving on a Revoked License (Second Offense), and Failure to Obey Traffic Control Devices (Running a Red Light).
Officers were dispatched to a possible drunk driver traveling down N Roan St in a green van. Officers responded and recognized the vehicle and continued to observe it. The vehicle crossed lane lines and drove through a red light at which point officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Officers made contact with the driver, Edward Scott. After a brief investigation, officers determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation, the suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Washington County Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of a bond hearing. His arraignment hearing is set for 01:30 p.m. on 1/26/2015 in Washington County Sessions Court.
