On 01/15/15, Investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Dexter Lyle Smith (105 Limestone Ruritan Rd., Limestone, TN, 33 years old) on charges of Forgery and Theft of Property over $500.
On 3/12/14, Officers with the Johnson City Police Department received a report of a Forgery that occurred at Capital Bank, 503 N. State of Franklin Rd. The victim reported that checks had been stolen from her home in Erwin, TN. One of the checks was the forged and passed at Capital Bank in Johnson City. The suspect passing the checks was then identified as Dexter Lyle Smith. A warrant was issued for Smith at that time.
On 1/15/15, Dexter Smith was released from the Greene Co. Jail and transported to the Washington Co. Detention Center where the warrant was served. Mr. Smith is being held on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday, 1/16/15 at 10:30 am.
