On Saturday, December 13, 2014, at approximately 1930 hours, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested three subjects on the charge Theft of Property over $1000 (Shoplifting). The subjects were Amanda Engle of 850 Rock Creek Rd, Erwin TN, 40 years of age, Terry Shelton of 800 Rock Creek Rd, Erwin TN, 41 years of age, and Melissa Ballard of 514 Rock Creek Rd, Erwin TN, 40 years of age. The arrests were the result of a further investigation from Shelton and Engle’s apprehension by JCPenney’s loss prevention team on this date. After apprehending them, Officers and Loss Prevention were able to locate Ballard in the trio’s vehicle attempting to hide more stolen items. All 42 items totaling $1,759.00 were recovered and all suspects were transported to the Washington County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond with an arraignment set for Monday, December 15, 2014, at 1:30 pm in the Washington County General Sessions Court.
