On 11/06/20, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Ashley Griffin (1505 Cherokee Rd. Apt 21, 27 years old) and charged her with Theft of Property and Burglary.
At approximately 3:36 p.m., officers responded to 2915 W. Market St. (Super Wal-Mart) in reference to a shoplifter that had been apprehended by Wal-Mart Loss Prevention. Loss Prevention advised that they observed Mrs. Griffin conceal merchandise before passing all points of sale without paying. During the investigation it was determined that Mrs. Griffin had been trespassed from Wal-Mart properties on a previous date. Investigation also showed that Mrs. Griffin had been convicted of trespassing on Wal-Mart property on a previous date.
Based upon the totality of the circumstances and her previous offenses, Mrs. Griffin was placed under arrest and charged with Theft of Property and Burglary. She was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $3,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 11/09/20 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
