On 11/10/2020, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Taylor Nicole Calloway (1012 Isaacs Branch Rd Newland, NC, 19 years old) and charged her with Motor Vehicle Theft over $10,000, Evading Arrest, Leaving the Scene of Accident, No Driver License, and Reckless Endangerment.
On 11/10/2020, Officers were dispatched to a 2015 Black Jeep Wrangler that was just stolen. While checking the area, officers located the stolen vehicle, activated their lights and sirens, and attempted to stop the vehicle. The stolen vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and as officers attempted to catch up to the stolen vehicle it struck a utility pole and continued driving. Officers located the vehicle down an embankment. Calloway was located a short distance away and taken into custody. Investigation revealed that Calloway stole the vehicle.
Calloway was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $31,500 bond. An arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 11/12/20 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
