On 8/29/19, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested James Blackburn (Johnson City., 25 years old) and charged him with aggravated assault.
On 8/29/19, at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers responded to W. Market St. and N. Center St. on an assault. Officers were told by a witness that 2 men were fighting and that one of the men was pushed down a cliff. Officers located the victim near the railroad tracks who had fallen approximately 20 feet. EMS transported him to the Johnson City Medical Center, where he is receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Blackburn was located and taken into custody without incident.
On 8/29/19, Blackburn was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $3,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 10:30 a.m. on 8/30/19 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
