On 6/29/19, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Andrew Coleman (708 Rock City Rd., Kingsport, TN., 37 years old) and charged him with vandalism (34 counts) and evading arrest.
On 6/29/19, at approximately 7:47 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area Cox Farm Ct., due to a power meters being pulled off of residences. 911 reported that several calls were currently being received in the area. A BrightRidge representative, who had real time information/location of power losses, met with officers. Using that information, as well as witness information, officers were able to locate Coleman walking through the area. When officers approached Coleman, he ran on foot. He was quickly taken into custody without incident. A total of 31 residences and 3 businesses were found to be affected. BrightRidge quickly restored power to all locations.
On 6/29/19, Coleman was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $341,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 7/1/19 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
