On 01/19/19, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested 40 year old Corey W. Gibson, 1036 Amersham Rd., Kingsport, and 35 year old Keisha D. Staton, 716 Teasel Dr., Kingsport. Mr. Gibson and Ms. Staton were charged with possession of stolen property under $1,000, simple possession, drug paraphernalia and false reporting.
At approximately 12:18 a.m., officers responded to Wal-Mart, 3111 Browns Mill Rd., in reference to two subjects reportedly passed out in a vehicle. A records check revealed the tag being displayed on the vehicle had been stolen from a Kingsport address. Drug paraphernalia and baggies containing a crystal substance were also found inside the vehicle. Both Gibson and Staton provided false identification information when asked by officers to identify themselves.
Mr. Gibson and Ms. Staton were placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where they are both being held in lieu of $8,000 bonds. An arraignment is scheduled for 01/21/19, at 1:45 p.m., in Washington County General Sessions Court.
