On 3/10/2018 at 12:26 am officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Robert Rigsby, 26 years old, 2516 Clover St, Johnson City TN. and charged him with unlawful drug paraphernalia, identity theft, misdemeanor theft of property/ shoplifting, and driving on revoked license 2nd. The arrest stems from an investigation of a shoplifting at 1702 W. Market St where a male subject entered the business and took a phone charger. Officers arrived and observed a male matching the suspect description in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers made contact with the male and later determined that he had provided false identifiers. He was taken into custody and a search of his person incident to arrest revealed two glass pipes and a syringe. Officers reviewed security camera footage which showed that he had driven to the store despite his driving privileges being revoked.
Mr. Rigsby was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is currently being held in lieu of a $13,000 bond. An arraignment for Mr. Rigsby is scheduled for 3/12/2018 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
