On 3/6/18, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Shawn Edward Malone (1388 Bristol Hwy, 36 years old) and charged him with Auto Burglary and Theft of Property under $1,000.
The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into a forcible entry to a vehicle that occurred on the evening of 12/30/17 at around 11:30 pm. Through the course of the investigation, Shawn Malone was identified as the perpetrator that took property from the victim’s car. Malone was being held in the Carter County Detention Center on separate charges. He was released to the Sullivan County Sherriff’s Office on this charge and another, separate auto burglary offense.
Malone was placed under arrest and transported to the Sullivan County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 9:00 a.m. on 3/13/18 in Sullivan County General Sessions Court.
