On March 4, 2018, Officers of the Johnson City Police Dept arrested Mr Hieu T Nguyen ( 405 E Church St Elbert GA, 31 years old) and charged him with Felony Evading Arrest, Speeding, and Driving on a Suspended License.
At approximately 1:35 a.m., Officers noticed a motorcycle that matched the description of one that had been used in recent burglaries traveling on W Market St. The motorcycle was speeding. An attempted was made to stop the motorcycle but the rider accelerated through the downtown area. Officers did not pursue the motorcycle due to the hazards placed on the public. Officer later discovered the motorcycle parked at a residence and Mr Nguyen was identified as the rider.
Mr Nguyen was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center. He's being held in the Washington County Detention Center on an $11,000 bond and is set to appear in Session Court on March 5 at 9:00am
