On 3/12/2017, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Malachi Williams, 36 years old, 1310 Mountview Rd Antioch TN, and charged him with theft over $10,000 and theft under $1,000.
On 3/12/2017 at approximately 5:00 AM, officer responded to Quality Inn, 119 Pinnacle Dr., in reference to a vehicle theft. The victim told officers that Mr. Williams stole her vehicle and her friend’s cell phone after they allowed him to come into their hotel room to use a phone. Shortly after, officers located the vehicle abandoned nearby but were unable to locate Mr. Williams.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office took Mr. Williams into custody on unrelated charges later on the same day and Mr. Williams was served with an arrest warrant on the above charges while he was incarcerated in the Washington County Detention Center. Mr. Williams is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center on an $11,000 bond. His arraignment has been set in the Washington County Sessions Court.
