SUBJECT: Felony Arrest DATE: 3/12/17 TIME: 3:00 p.m.

On 3/12/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Malcolm S Simmons (512 Swadley Rd Apartment #17 , Johnson City, Tn., 25 years old). He was charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Simple Possession of Schedule VI/Marijuana .
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on 3/12/17, officers conducted a knock and talk at Stoneybrook Apartments in hopes of locating a wanted subject. Upon arrival at the location Officers were allowed into the residence by the homeowner who stated that Simmons was asleep in the back bedroom. Officers then located Simmons asleep and took him into custody for his warrant which was for Aggravated Assault. After locating Simmons, officers were that Simmons had a back pack which was located next to him when officers arrested him. A search was conducted incident to arrest, and Officers located a 40 caliber handgun, ammunition, and some marijuana. A records check on Simmons revealed that he is a convicted Felon out of Washington County, Tn. for Sales of Marijuana and Robbery.
Police arrested Mr. Simmons, and he was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $11,000 bond . Arraignment was set for Monday the 13th at 1:30 p.m., in Washington County General Sessions Court.
