On 03/10/17 officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Christopher L McInturff (221 Dry Creek Rd. Jonesborough, TN), 33 years old, charging him with motor vehicle theft, felony evading, habitual motor offender, and reckless driving.
At approximately 12:26am Officers responded to 2915 W. Market St. (Wal-Mart) in reference to unwanted guests. Upon arrival, officers were advised by dispatch that the suspect had walked across the street toward American Classic Suites. Responding officers observed a blue Chevrolet cavalier driving reckless in the parking lot of Discount Tire. A traffic stop was then attempted on the vehicle which failed to stop and fled the scene. The vehicle was then located on S. Barton St. behind a vacant house and the suspect had fled on foot. During the course of the investigation officers learned that the vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of Discount Tire, Officers were able to identify the driver as Christopher L. McInturff. The following night Mr. McInturff was taken into custody without incident after he was caught shoplifting. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a 26,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 10:30am on 03/10/17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
