SUBJECT: Felony Traffic Arrest DATE: 2/23/17 TIME: 3:00 p.m.

On 2/23/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Bradley G Murphy (1532 Southside Dr., Elizabethton, Tn., 36 years old) and he was charged with Felony Evading, 3 counts of Reckless Endangerment, Driving on a Revoke License, and Improper Display of Registration . At approximately 2:45 p.m. on 2/22/17, officers received a check welfare call on a green Honda Accord in the area of S Roan St and Lafe Cox. Officers were given information on the driver and that he didn’t have a valid driver’s license. As officers responded to the area they observed that car and the driver who officers knew as Bradley Murphy. With Murphy, was an older white female and two small children in the back seat of the vehicle. Officers ran the vehicle’s license plate and it came back to a different vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle initially stopped. After stopping , it took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then continued to swerve in and out of traffic almost causing several crashes. Officers terminated the pursuit for the safety of the public and the children in the vehicle. Officers located Murphy today at court in Carter County and he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $42,000 bond . Arraignment was set for tomorrow, Friday the 24th at 10:30 p.m., in Washington County General Sessions Court.
