On 6/15/16, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested David Manuel Cummings (1005 N Boone St., 27 years old) and charged him with reckless endangerment. Also arrested during the incident was Michael Joe Arnold (182 Cedar Point Rd., 18 years old) who was charged with accessory after the fact (reckless endangerment).
On 6/15/16, officers responded to the area of Cranberry St. at Mary Key St. in reference to reports of gun shots being fired. On arrival numerous subjects were still in the area. They reported that there had been a large group of subjects fighting. During the fight one of the subjects pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds. No subjects were reported to have been hit by the shots. Witnesses observed a vehicle leave the area of the altercation with the subject who had fired the weapon.
Police located the suspect vehicle in the downtown area of Johnson City and conducted a traffic stop. David Manuel Cummings and Michael Joe Arnold were transported back to the police department for questioning. Cummings and Arnold were later arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where they were being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 9:00 a.m. on 6/16/16 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
