On 06/06/2016 officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Milburn B. Hughes (48 year old, w/m, 1414 Vanover Dr., Johnson City TN) on charges of Driving on Revoked License (for DUI) 3rd offense, Improper Lane Change, Failure to Comply with Financial Responsibility, Unlawful Removal of a Registration Decal, and Identity Theft.
The arrest is the result of a traffic stop on a vehicle after an improper lane change, during which it almost caused a collision with another vehicle. During the investigation, Hughes used someone else's identity to provide false information to officers in an attempt to conceal his identity. Further investigation revealed that his TN driver's license was revoked for Driving Under the Influence. Mr. Hughes also could not provide current proof of insurance, his vehicle was unregistered, and the registration decal had been removed from another vehicle and placed in this one. He was placed under arrest on the above listed charges and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $11,000 bond pending a court hearing on 06/07/2016 in Washington County General Sessions Court. His vehicle was also seized according to state law.
