At approximately 12:40 AM, Officers were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle crash on Cherokee Rd. near the intersection of Burton France Rd. Upon arrival, Officers found the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer had been ejected after rolling his vehicle. The initial investigation revealed that the driver entered a curve at a high rate of speed, lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway where his vehicle overturned. The driver, 29-year-old Tyler Foster of Kings Springs Rd, Johnson City, TN, was not restrained and was ejected from the vehicle causing serious injuries. Mr. Foster succumbed to his injuries after arriving at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. The investigation is continuing however, failure to use a seatbelt and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
