On 4/18/15, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Tyrone C. Taylor (404 Hamilton Street, age 28) and charged him with Burglary of Motor Vehicle, Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.
At approximately 1:40 a.m., officers conducting foot patrol in the area of 150 W. State of Franklin Road were flagged down by a citizen stating that someone had broken the window out of her vehicle, assaulted her, and stole her cell phone. During the investigation, several subjects were quickly identified and a search of the area was conducted. Officers located Mr. Taylor on foot in the downtown area, and upon speaking with him, could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person. Mr. Taylor was ultimately placed under arrest for public intoxication. During a search incident to arrest of his person, the keys to the vehicle were located in his left front jacket pocket.
Mr. Taylor was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $21,500 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 4/20/15 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
