On 4/22/15, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested a 17 year old male and charged him with burglary of a motor vehicle.
Officers responded to 3692 W. Market Street in reference to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers were advised by the victim that a male subject had attempted to break into two vehicles parked on his lot. The victim stated he scared the male subject and he took off running towards Minga Drive. The victim advised that the male subject dropped a small pry bar as he fled the scene. With the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, a track was conducted that led to an address on Minga Drive. Officers made contact with several subjects inside the residence and observed a male juvenile matching the description given by the victim. After positive identification of the male by the victim, he was taken into custody.
Officers contacted the on-call juvenile detention worker and it was determined to issue the juvenile male a citation and release him to the custody of his parents.
