On 10/5/15, at approximately 8:24 p.m., the Johnson City Police Department responded to Walgreens, 4210 N. Roan St., on an armed robbery. Employees provided a description of a white male, approximately 6’0, wearing blue medical scrubs, blue hair net, and a blue surgical mask. The suspect walked up to the pharmacy counter and showed a weapon he had tucked inside his waist band and demanded prescription drugs. The employees complied and the suspect fled the front entrance toward the intersection of N. Roan St. and Carroll Creek Rd.
Christopher Fox (514 Stapleton Dr., Kingsport, 30 years old) was located a short distance from the scene of the robbery. Prior to being apprehended by police, Fox ingested an unknown quantity of pills. He was admitted at the Johnson City Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
A warrant charging Christopher Fox has been obtained and will be served upon his release from the Johnson City Medical Center. He will be charged with aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence.
The Johnson City Police Department, Criminal Investigation Division, is continuing to investigate prior robberies of Walgreens, 5104 Bobby Hicks Hwy., Gray, that occurred on 9/8/15 and another robbery that occurred at Walgreens, 429 N. State of Franklin Rd., Johnson City, that occurred on 9/14/15. At this point in the investigation, no evidence is present to link the previous (2) two robberies to this one.
