On the 02-03-15, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Brandon Mays, 44 yrs old, (General Delivery) for Aggravated Assault and Emily N. Elam, 25 yrs old, (General Delivery), for False Reporting.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to 207 E. Mountcastle Dr. in reference to a fight in progress.  Following an investigation into the incident, officers were able to determine that the altercation had escalated to a physical assault with a knife.  Witness testimony and video of the incident revealed that Mr. Mays had attacked a male subject with a knife.  The assault resulted in the male being stabbed in the side and also receiving several lacerations to his body.  Officers located Mr. Mays with his girlfriend, Emily Elam, in the parking lot of an adjacent business.  Multiple witnesses also stated that Ms. Elam had been present during the altercation.  When questioned about the incident, Ms. Elam made up a false alibi trying to cover for Mr. Mays.  The victim is currently receiving treatment for his wounds at the Johnson City Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition.

Brandon Mays was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.  Emily Elam was also transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is currently being held on a $5000 bond.  Both have arraignments scheduled for 02-04-15 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
