On Thursday, January 15, 2015, Eddie B Green, B/M, 57, 293 S Austin Springs Rd, Apt 44, Johnson City, TN was arrested by officers of the Johnson City Police Department. He was charged with shoplifting, driving on suspended license 2nd offense, felony evading arrest, driving under the influence and unlawful drug paraphernalia. The arrest is the result of a Walmart employee flagging down a JCPD officer after Green had apparently been involved in a shoplifting incident. The officer then attempted to stop Green but he failed to stop. Soon after, other officers located Green traveling on Oakland Avenue near Princeton Lane and attempted to stop his vehicle. Green once again failed to stop, at which time officers discontinued the attempt to stop his vehicle. Within minutes, Green was observed traveling back in the opposite direction and officers then attempted a traffic stop once again. Green then stopped his vehicle as he entered an apartment complex and he was then placed in custody on the aforesaid charges. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $14,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on January 15, 2015 at 1:30pm.
