On 12/17/14 at approximately 7:00 p.m, officers of the Johnson City Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Cherokee Rd and Brook Hollow Rd in reference to a traffic crash investigation. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver, Clinton Lady, age 23 of 150 Cedar Point Rd in Johnson City, Tn, who was unconscious and appeared to be suffering from serious injuries. EMS arrived and transported the driver to the JCMCH for treatment of his injuries. He is currently in critical condition at the JCMCH.
Investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling south on Cherokee Road when Mr Lady, for a currently unknown reason, left the roadway on the right side and subsequently struck a utility pole. The vehicle then traversed over a slight embankment, striking a tree on the driver’s side and coming to rest. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Traffic Homicide Team of the Johnson City Police Department.
