On 04/22/2014, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested George T. Thompson (172 Madison St. Erwin, TN 37650) 37 years old and charged him with 2 counts of Aggravated Burglary, Theft of property over $500, Evading Arrest, Simple Possession, and Driving on Suspended License 9th offense.
At approximately 2:20 PM, officers responded to 4115 W. Englewood Dr. on a residential burglary. The victim said when he arrived home and entered his house, he observed a white male subject in his home. The victim gave a description of the subject to police and that the subject was riding a blue Suzuki sports bike and wearing a black and white helmet. Officers responded to another residential burglary at 3422 Linkwood Drive. This victim also gave the same description of the subject on the blue motorcycle.
Officers located the subject riding the blue Suzuki motorcycle on Sundale Rd. and got behind him. The subject pulled into a driveway on Sundale Rd. and got off the motorcycle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit the subject was placed in handcuffs. He was taken to the Washington County Sheriffs Center, where he is being held on a $48,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 PM on 04/23/2014 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
