On 11/21/2020 officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Michael R. Reed (700 E. Mountcastle Dr., 30 years old) and charged him with Violation of Light Law, Evading (by vehicle), Evading (on foot), Simple Possession of Schedule VI, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession without a Prescription, Driving on Revoked License 1st, and Driving Under the Influence 4th offense.
On 11/20/2020 at approximately 11:20 p.m. officers attempted to stop a Honda Civic with inoperable taillights in the area of Legion St. and King Springs Rd. The vehicle fled the attempted traffic stop but was later located by officers in an apartment parking lot on Linden Ave. Officers canvassed the area and located a male lying along the fence line. The male ignored verbal commands and fled on foot. Officers eventually located the male again near the apartment complex where he was taken into custody. The male was identified as Mr. Reed and an investigation revealed him to be the driver of the vehicle. Mr. Reed was found to be in possession of marijuana and Suboxone along with drug paraphernalia. Mr. Reed also appeared to be under the influence of drugs during this incident.
Mr. Reed was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a bond hearing. Arraignment is set for 11/23/2020 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
