Johnson City Police Department arrested Jeffery Nave (55 years of age) of 1831 E. Oakland Ave. Johnson City TN. 37601 and charged him with one count each of Kidnapping, Simple Domestic Assault and Evading Arrest.
On 10/24/2020 officers were dispatched to the address in reference to a third party call stating his friend was being beaten by her boyfriend, Jeffery Nave. Officers arrived on scene but could not make contact with anyone. Neighbors stated they had not heard anything from the apartment. Officers cleared the scene. Later into the night the victim called E911 to which the call taker heard Jeffery Nave yelling and a physical altercation occurring. Officers arrived and the victim came to the door crying, stating Mr. Nave beat her and ran out the back door. Officers pursued and apprehended him shortly after. Officers spoke to the victim and she stated Jeffery Nave had pinned her on the couch threatening to kill her if she said a word or spoke to police. Once officers left the first time she locked herself in a bedroom. Nave kicked in the door and assaulted her again. That is when she called E911. Jeffery Nave was arrested and transported to Washington County Detention Center.
Jeffery Nave is being held in lieu of a $27,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30p.m. on 10/26/2020 in Washington County General Sessions.
