On 10/21/2020, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Filiberto Alvarez (300 Lamont St. Johnson City, TN 37604, 25 years old) and charged him with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. on 10/21/2020, officers were dispatched to 300 Lamont St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke to the victims that lived at the residence who said that Alvarez had come home and behaved like he was under the influence of an unknown substance. The victims and Alvarez got into a verbal argument which escalated when Alvarez began stabbing the walls with a kitchen knife. They said that he displayed the knives toward the victims in a threatening manner and made verbal threats to harm them. While attempting to place Alvarez under arrest for the offenses, he resisted officers by attempting to pull away from them.
Alvarez was placed under arrest and transported to Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on a $21,000 bond. Arraignment is set for at 1:30 p.m. on 10/22/2020 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
