On 10/09/2020, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jose L Garcia-Figueroa (3500 W. Market St, Rm 41, 44 years old) and charged him with Aggravated Assault.
At approximately 1:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to 3500 W. Market St, in reference to a male subject with a knife. Upon arrival officers made contact with the manager of the motel. He advised that Garcia-Figueroa crashed his vehicle into his and became irate. Officers then made contact with the victim, who is a resident in a separate motel room. She advised that the suspect had a pocket knife out and open, waving around in her direction. She stated she was in fear of being cut because he was within striking distance. Officers made contact with Garcia-Figueroa in his room. After consent to search his pockets, a pocket knife was found in his front right pocket that matched what was told to officers from on-lookers.
Garcia-Figueroa was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $3,500 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 10/12/2020 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
