On 07/22/2020, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Clarinda Johnson (36 years of age) of 1210 N Barton St, in Johnson City TN, and charged her with one count of Hindering Secured Creditors.
Investigation revealed on 10/10/2019, Clarinda Johnson obtained a loan on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. She made five payments and refused to pay after the fifth payment. The loan company attempted to contact her multiple times, but she refused to give the location of the truck. During this time, she concealed the truck and refused to pay. The company continued to unsuccessfully search for the vehicle. Officers obtained a warrant for Ms. Johnson based upon this information. While attempting to serve the warrant, the vehicle was located and the loan company took possession of it. Shortly thereafter, officers observed a vehicle that was being operated by Ms. Johnson. A traffic stop was initiated and Ms. Johnson was apprehended. She was, subsequently, transported to Washington County Detention Center.
Clarinda Johnson is being held in lieu of a $1,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30p.m on 07/23/2020 in Washington County General Sessions.
