On 7/12/20, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested James A. Johnson (1706 Scenic Dr., 39 years old) and charged him with burglary.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to 2915 W. Market St. (Walmart) in reference to a shoplifting. Mr. Johnson had fled the business after asset protection associates attempted to detain him, however officers located him after a brief search. Through the course of the investigation officers discerned that Mr. Johnson had been previously trespassed from the business and had prior convictions for shoplifting. Mr. Johnson was charged with one count of burglary.
Mr. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $3,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 7/13/20 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
