On 06/11/20, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Adam Steele (36 yrs. old, 220 Huskins Rd. Erwin), who was wanted on numerous warrants.
On 05/15/20, a warrant was obtained on Adam Steele for Aggravated Burglary. He is accused of forcing entry to a room at the 11-E Motel and choking the victim, demanding his money back.
On 05/19/20, a report was filed regarding the theft of a 2005 Mazda Tribute. The ensuing investigation resulted in a warrant being issued on Adam Steele for Motor Vehicle Theft over $1,000.
On 05/20/20, a report was filed regarding the theft of two motorcycles from an address on W. Poplar St. The ensuing investigation resulted in a warrant being issued on Adam Steele for Motor Vehicle Theft over $2,500.
Officers started receiving tips about Mr. Steele staying in the woods behind 11-E Motel on 06/10. He was apprehended on 06/11 after a brief foot pursuit. He is charged with Aggravated Burglary, Motor Vehicle Theft over $1,000, Motor Vehicle Theft over $2,500, and Evading Arrest. He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a combined bond of $6,500. He is scheduled for Arraignment in General Sessions Court on 06/12/20 at 10:00 am.
