On 05/27/2020, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joehanathan W. Castle (250 Jenkins Hollow Rd., Elizabethton, TN. 38 years old). Joehanathan W. Castle was charged with Fugitive from Justice (Crime in Another State.)
On 05/27/2020 at 14:23 hours, Officers responded to 2807 S. Roan St. in reference to Mr. Castle calling 911 and wanted to turn himself in. Mr. Castle stated to Washington County Dispatch that he had an outstanding warrant from Virginia and he wanted to turn himself in. When the officer arrived on scene, Mr. Castle had his right hand in his shorts pocket and appeared to be holding something. The officer asked Mr. Castle to remove his hand from his pocket and he did not comply. Mr. Castle then made suicidal statements and produced a knife. Mr. Castle preceded to put the knife up to his neck and continued to make suicidal statements. After a brief standoff, officers were able to persuade Mr. Castle to put the knife down and he was taken into custody without further incident. Mr. Castle’s information was checked through N.C.I.C. and it was confirmed that he had an outstanding warrant out of Bristol, VA with full extradition.
Johnson City Officers arrested Mr. Castle and he was transported to the Washington County Detention Center. Mr. Castle will be held for a bond hearing and his arraignment is on 05/27/2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Washington County General Sessions Court.
