On 5/16/20, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Eric Lynn Carter (364 Cedar Grove Rd, 50 years old) and charged him with aggravated assault.
The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into an assault that occurred on 5/15/20, in the roadway on Smith St, at around 10:25 pm. The victim claims to have been struck with a hatchet and sustained multiple, non-life threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the victim personally knows his attacker and identified the man as Eric Carter. Officers of the Johnson City Police Department took Carter into custody at his residence this morning.
Carter was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 5/18/20 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
