On 7/10/2019, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Luther Easley 1112 King Springs Rd, 27 years old, and charged him with felony methamphetamine possession for resale and public intoxication.
At approximately 1:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to the AA building on E. Maple St. to check an intoxicated person there. When officers arrived on the scene, Easley approached them and began to explain that he is a drug addict and had used meth about an hour prior. Easley told officers he had contraband on him and officers located ten individually wrapped baggies containing methamphetamine. Easley stated he intended to sell the drugs.
Officers placed Easley under arrest and transported him to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 7/11/2019 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
