On 2/26/19, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Thomas Lumpkin (44 years old, 1911 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City) and charged him with the following:

The arrest stems from an investigation that began in 2014 into the distribution of crack cocaine in Johnson City. During this investigation, Lumpkin sold quantities of crack cocaine to individuals working on behalf of law enforcement on two different occasions. On 2/26/19, narcotics investigators and the Johnson City Police Department S.W.A.T. team executed a search warrant at Lumpkin’s residence. Lumpkin was arrested at that time, and additional drugs and a firearm were located in his residence.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.

Lumpkin was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he was being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County General Sessions Court on 2/27/19 at 9:00 a.m.
