On February 9th 2019 at 02:34 am, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Alexis Maldonado Colon, 37 years old, 1270A Milligan Hwy, Johnson City, TN and charged him with Driving Under the Influence (5th offense), Felony Evading, Driving on a Revoked License(4th offense), and Driving the Wrong Way on a One Way Street.
The arrest stems from an officer observing Mr. Colon traveling the wrong way on W Market St downtown. Officer initiated a traffic stop and attempted to make contact with Mr. Colon. Mr. Colon sped away seconds after stopping. Mr. Colon later crashed into the cable barrier on I26 and came to a stop on Milligan Highway due to the damage to his vehicle. Investigation revealed that Mr. Colon was driving under the influence of alcohol and his TN Driver’s License is currently revoked for a previous DUI. Mr. Colon also has an outstanding felony warrant from Sullivan Co, TN for Failing to Appear.
Mr. Colon was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond. His arraignment is set for February 11th 2019 in General Sessions Court.
