On Monday, January 21st, 2019, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Mr. Daniel A. Taylor (19 years old, 3950 Wales Ave., Memphis, TN) on charges of identity theft, shoplifting (under $1,000) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The arrest occurred at Wal-Mart (3111 Browns Mill Rd) after an employee observed a male and female conceal several items into a backpack and then exit the business without attempting to render proper payment. After a brief investigation, officers found that Mr. Taylor identified himself as his brother by giving officers his brothers personal information. Officers also found that the female suspect was a juvenile.
Mr. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $12,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 01/22/2019 at 1:30pm in the Washington County General Sessions Court.
