On 11-8-18, an officer of the Johnson City Police responded to First Bank and Trust at 1185 N State of Franklin Rd. to investigate the passing of a fraudulent check. During the investigation, it was learned that a fraudulent check in the amount of $4,628.20 had been cashed earlier that day. It was learned that the check was not authentic and the signature that would authorize the check had been forged. At the conclusion of the investigation, 46 year old Jack Taylor II of Asheville, NC was arrested and charged with criminal simulation, forgery, identity theft and theft over $1000.00. Mr. Taylor is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $30,000.00 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Washington County Justice Center at 10:00 a.m. on 11-9-18.
