On 10/28/18, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Crystal D Chatman (No address available, 38 years old) charging her with Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault (Domestic), Interference with Emergency Calls and Simple Assault. At approximately 9:41 p.m., officers were dispatched to 14 Regency Square in reference to a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed that Ms. Chatman forced her way into the residence of the victim. The victim attempted to call 911 for help, however, Ms. Chatman knocked the phone out of her hand, breaking it. Ms. Chatman then prevented the victim from leaving the apartment by physically blocking all exits, and while holding a knife, threatened to kill the victim. Once the victim escaped her residence, neighbors attempted to intervene on her behalf, resulting in one of them being assaulted by Ms. Chatman. Chatman was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 10/29/18 at 1:30 p.m., in Washington County General Sessions Court.
