On 4/1/2018, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joseph Adkins (902 N. Barton St., Johnson City, TN; 38 years old) and charged him with possession of stolen property (over $2,500), burglary of a motor vehicle, and theft of property.
At approximately 10:00 a.m., officers located a vehicle at 902 N. Barton St. reported stolen from a Johnson City address on 3/30/3018. Contact was made with the resident, who allowed officers to enter the home. Inside, contact was made with Adkins. Officers had knowledge of multiple warrants outstanding against him. A total of 7 warrants were confirmed from both Johnson City Police and Washington County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody. During a search of his person, the keys to the stolen vehicle, as well as identity documents, credit cards, and jewelry were found. Inside the vehicle were several unopened packages. Officers were able to locate the owner of the property, who discovered that her vehicle had been broken into the previous night.
Adkins was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held in lieu of a cumulative $110,250 bond. Arraignment was set for 1:30 p.m. on 4/2/2018 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
