On 1/30/2018, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Daniel K. Hylmon (128 Hopper Rd., Johnson City, 27 years of age) and Lauren Collins (112 Sunnyview Ct., Johnson City, 22 years of age) and charged both with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale, Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Dangerous Felony, 3 counts of Simple Possession, and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia. Hylmon is additionally charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun and Driving on a Suspended License.
At approximately 11:45 p.m. on 1/29/2018, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Hylmon, the driver, and Collins, his passenger. A K9 unit was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle. During the subsequent search, 3.5 ounces of methamphetamine, a handgun, a small amount of marijuana and pills, and various items of drug paraphernalia were located. A criminal history confirmed that Hylmon is a convicted felon.
Police arrested Hylmon and Collins and transported them to the Washington County Detention Center. Hylmon is held on a $35,000 bond, while Collins is held on a $24,000 bond. Arraignment was set for 1:30 p.m. on 1/30/2018 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
