On 7/12/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Karla C. Chase, 909 Little Cove Road, Pigeon Forge, TN, 34 years old, and charged her with Driving on a Suspended License 1st Offense, Evading Arrest, Possession of Stolen Property and Identity Theft. On 7/12/17 at 9:54 p.m., Karla Chase was stopped for driving without a license plate. During the traffic stop, Chase gave a false identification to officers then ran on foot. She was located a short distance from the stop in a nearby apartment. The silver Chrysler PT Cruiser Chase was driving was reported stolen in Knoxville, TN earlier in the day. Once Chase was identified, officers learned her license had been suspended. Karla Chase was arrested and is currently being held at Washington County Detention Center on a $17,000 bond. An arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 7/13/2017 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
