On 6/28/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Lon F. Everett (32 years old, 1201 Division St., Apt #2, Johnson City, TN) and charged him with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Felony Methamphetamine Possession, Simple Possession, Driving on Suspended License, and Possession of Stolen Property.
On 6/28/17, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers were patrolling the area near Division St. and E. Locust St. Officers observed a suspicious male going towards a Dodge truck while carrying a flat screen television. Shortly after, the truck sped towards a nearby alley on E. Locust St., as the male continued to catch up with it. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and also made contact with the male carrying the television. The resulting investigation revealed that the driver of the Dodge Dakota was currently driving on a Suspended License. Drug contraband was also openly observed inside the vehicle. A search produced multiple baggies, syringes, 1.7 grams of Methamphetamine, one baggie of Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen Glock 43 9mm Pistol.
Mr. Everett was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is currently being held on a $23,000.00 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on Thursday 6/29/17 at 1:30 p.m.
