SUBJECT: Felony Arrest DATE: 03/19/17 TIME: 3:30 a.m.
PREPARED BY: Officer William Wilson APPROVED BY: Sergeant Reggie Sparks
On 03/19/17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joshua L. Hicks (3164 Old State Route 34, 26 years old) and charged him with False Reporting and Criminal Impersonation.
On 03/18/17 at approximately 10:57 p.m. officers responded to 1801 W. State of Franklin Rd, Pizza Hut in reference to an irate customer. The investigation revealed that Hicks and his girlfriend got into a verbal argument with the manager when they over heard her telling another employee that it was rude for them to come in and order food when they were only open for another 10 minutes. The argument escalated to the point that Hicks in an attempt to intimidate the store manager used a Washington County Deputies name and acted like he was going to shoot them by placing his hand over a holster that he was wearing. The manager stated that once she realized the holster was empty Hicks told her the gun was in his car. Officers learned the suspects name after his girlfriend returned to the store. Initially she refused to cooperate with officers. While speaking with Hicks on the phone he refused to meet officer and gave them false information as to his true identity.
Once a warrant was obtained Hicks was taken into custody by Washington County Deputies at his residence and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $6,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 03/20/17 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Session Court.
