On February 12th, 2017, Investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jason Byrd, 32, of 712 N Barton St, with Burglary and Theft over $2500. The arrest stems from an investigation into a reported burglary at Jims Motorcycle Shop on February 9th, 2017, where over $9000 worth of property was stolen. On February 12th, 2017, Investigators went to 712 N Barton St, Johnson City in an attempt to locate Byrd on an unrelated Violation of Probation warrant. While at the residence, officers located some of the stolen property in a vehicle in the driveway. Other stolen property was located in the residence and inside a detached garage on the property. Jason Byrd was transported to the Johnson City Police Department where he confessed to committing the burglary on the night of February 7th, 2017. Byrd is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $15,000 bond, with arraignment set for Monday, February 13th @ 130pm.
