On 1/26/17, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joshua Branche (2307 Watauga Rd., 37 years old) and charged him with criminal simulation.
The arrest comes as a result of an investigation of counterfeit currency being passed at local businesses in the Johnson City area on 9/19/16. The fake bills collected from these stores match those from a previous incident where Branche was charged with the same crime.
On 1/26/17, Branche was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 10:00 a.m. on 1/27/17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
