JCPD NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: | Felony Vandalism Arrest | DATE: | 11/26/16 | TIME: | 2:50 a.m. |
PREPARED BY: | MPO David Smith 501 | APPROVED BY: | Lt. Scotty Carrier |
On 11/26/16, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Dillon B. Brewer (157 Meadowview Ln. Telford, Tn., 24 years old) and charged him with Felony Vandalism, DUI 1st, driving on Suspended License 2nd, Speeding, and Violation Implied Consent Law.
At approximately 2:50 a.m., officers responded to 1805 N. Roan St. (Electric Cowboy) in reference to a vandalism that occurred. Officers observed the suspect vehicle leaving the area traveling south on N. Roan St. going 55 M.P.H. in a 40 M.P.H. zone. The suspect vehicle was stopped for speeding and suspicion of vandalism and contact with the driver was made. He was identified as Dillon B. Brewer. It was determined, after Mr. Brewer performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, that he was too impaired to be operating a motor vehicle. After further investigation of the vandalism, it was determined that Mr. Brewer had cut the tires on a truck belonging to another person which exceeded $500 in value. An NCIC check of Mr. Brewers’ driver’s license revealed that his license is currently suspended by the state of Tennessee. Mr. Brewer also refused to submit to a blood alcohol test.
Mr. Brewer was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $12,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 11/28/16 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
